Ban Pru Sub-district
History
Ban Pru District comes from the word 'Pru' meaning a land that is hard on the surface but

underneath full of depressions. h e area is made of muddy plains and when the people travel around they
would fall into pits that the villagers called 'Pru'. When the area was developed and housings were built,
it was named Ban Pru according to its topography.
General Details
In the east, hills surround the district, in the south and the north there is the town and the plains
of Klong Udtapao. T h e soil is light brown and water drains from it quickly. There are six
sub-divisions under the Municipality and five under the District Organization.
