Phang La Sub-district
The sub-district gets its name from a community of people who immigrated to the area
from another place. These people were mostly farmers and their main crop was phangla bananas.
The banana leaves were used to wrap the local snacks. The community was originally known as
Bahn Lang La but later when it became a sub-district the name was changed to Phang La.
The area of Phang La Sub-district is mostly leveled terrain. Most of the area is covered

with rubber plantations. Most of the people make a living by workng in the rubber plantations. There
are 6 sub-divisions in Phang La and the city hall is responsible for 9 different communities.
