The prelude song of the shadow puppet show can be divided into 2 types
1. "Thub" song is the song that follows mainly along the rhythm of the Thub instrument.
2. "Pee" song or flute song, is the song which uses the flute with traditional songs such as "Pad
cha", "Yieam wimarn" , "Kamen Sai Yok" , "Ratripradabdao" , "Lao Krachair" , "Kheak Toi mor" and
"Thong Born" songs.
The different formats of the Manora Songs are divided as follow:
1. Original Thai style: "Padcha" song.
2. Traditional Thai style: "Yiem Wimarn , "Kheak Tom mor" , "Kamen Sai Yok", and "Ratri
Pradabdao" songs
3. Modem style: Cheerful and fun like folksong (of the past). The songs will be selected by the
flute player. Each night, there are prelude songs.
Some troupes of puppeteers use the traditional style during the show. Some groups have adapted
and applied their style by adding folk songs and some international musical instruments to the play.
