The Shiva puppet is holy. It is the God of entertainment. His transportation is an animal,
"Usuparaj" or "Nonthi" cow usually called the puppet "Phrakon". It is believed that if the puppeteer selects
the hide of a white cow with four legs, a white bump, a white forehead in the shape of a boo tree, and a white
tail. This cow is very rare to find. It will be very auspicious for the puppeteer if they can find the mentioned
features. (This belief follows the southern holy theology)
The cow named "Ausuraj": according to the Brahman ideology m which the Shiva has 4 hands;
each hand will hold the following: an arrow, a trident, a baton and a lariat. But the Shiva in the shadow
puppet show has only 2 hands, and will hold only a sword and a chakra, the puppet will have a smaller size.
8. "Rupcha" or "Cha" means the fighting between the Rama and the giant "Tossakan" this
puppet is obsolete now along with the black monkey.

9. "Orkrubpraj Nar bot" or "Kard Prai" means notice and debate. This puppet is the
representative of the Master of the shadow puppet show, this puppet looks like a man who is the king's son.
The front hand of the puppet can move. The fingers are specially made because the finger can spread away
from the thumb, and the other hands is bent, to cross at a right angle to the body, there is a lotus and a
bouquet of flower in his hand.
10. Manipulating the characters in telling the story:

Shadow puppet show puppeteers and his duo
The shadow puppet show is a famous local performing art traditional to the south. The puppets
are made form cow hide. These puppets have several forms and character: The man, the lady, the giant and

other comedians like "Ainunui'', "Ai teng", "Ai go": and so on. Sometimes there are many animal puppets.
All the puppets are shown behind a square screen cloth The shadow puppeteer will perform the story as well
as recite verses, sometimes in a different style of movement if he wants the shadow puppet show to be a
unique show. The musical instruments will join in the play to lead the puppets in different rhythms of
movement.
