Patong Sub-district
History
Patong derives from the name of an area with many rivers flowing through where there are
plants growing densely along the whole length of the water way that are called 'Paitong'. When the area was
divided, the district received the name Paitong District and was later pronounced Patong and this is the name
used today.
General Details
The topography of Patong Sub-district consists of plains surrounded by hills with many water
ways flowing through. Most of the land is fertile soil suitable for farming and agriculture including rubber
plantations and orchards.

To the north: Ban Pru Sub-district, Hatyai District, and Toong Lan Sub-district, Klong Hoy
Khong District, and Klong Rung Sub-district, Na Mohm District, Songkhla Province

To the east: Kae and Nam Kao Sub-districts, Chana District, Songk.hla Province
To the west: Toong Lan Sub-district, Klong Hoy Khong District, Songkhla Province

There is a population of 5,737 inhabitants in 1,078 households.
