Kite Making Course
Rum Dang Sub-district
Importance
Thai people have known how to fly kites since the Sukhohthai Era and have continued into the
Rattanagosin Era. From his Majesty the King down to the common people, kites are part of the national
identity. It is a combination of culture and sport that cannot be seen anywhere else. "Kite" can be made
easily from bamboo and mulberry paper. Kites are very popular with every age group. It is easy to fly
kites just keep them up in the sky.
Goals
1. For young people to acquire skills in making different types of kites.
2. For young people to develop creative ideas in crafting kites.
3. For young people to enjoy the activity
4. So they can fly kites themselves.
Objectives
1. For the youth to get knowledge and skill in inventing a kite.
2. For preserving traditional sports and amusement
3. For the youth to make good use of their time.
Course Contents
Consists of the two following
1. Tools and equipments for constructing kite.
2. Making varieties of kites
Study Time
Course in crafting kites: 20 hours
Theory: 2 hours
Practice: 18 hours
