Day 1 Materials Used in Kite Making 4 Hours
Big Knife
The knife used should be big and sharp for cutting· the
sharp bamboo sticks according to the size needed.
Bamboo
This is an important material used in making the frame
of the kite. The bamboo sticks selected must not have knots
otherwise the frame will not be strong. If weak the kite. will
snap when flying against strong winds.
Paper
Paper is another important material that is used to cover
the kite frame, making the kite fly in the wind. There are
various types of paper that can be used but kite paper is favored.
Rope
Used to tie together the bamboo pieces forming the frame
of the kite, making a sturdy frame.
String for flying
This string should be strong to resist against strong
winds without snapping easily, nylon string is usually used.
Flout Putty
This can be made by putting Glutinous rice flour into
a small amount of water over a low flame, and stirring
it slowly until it thickens into a paste.
Ribbon
Use it as a decoration on the tail of the kite or it can be used
on the rim of the kite to make noise when flying against the wind.
Scissors
Used to cut paper for the kite
