Course of Religious Ceremonies-Ban Han District
Importance
Religious rituals: This is one of ceremonies. It is a formal pattern
to practice and the ritual indicates the proceedings as follows. Each social
group has their individual way of life that have been practiced for generations,
following the beliefs or superstitions of the community members. So, there are
many styles of ceremonies being practiced for instance at funerals. There is a
person who is responsible for the procedures, the host or "Master of
Ceremony". He has to direct, manage as well as offer suggestions. This person
must be skilled and well-educated. There are many different processes and they are quite complicated.
Hence, he must practice as much as possible for becoming a skilled host in religious rituals. He must be able
to inform the attendees or team members of the details of the ceremony.
Goals
1. For the children, youth, and general public to know and understand about the religious
ceremonies.
2. To pass on the knowledge to the children and general public as well as be able to practice or
follow the right procedures of rituals.
Objectives
l. To teach interested people to learn the ritual process and be able to organize it well.
2. To select people to become candidates as religious hosts in the community.
Course Contents
I. Basic knowledge about religious ceremonies, setting the place, preparing the tools/
equipment, writing a planner for Buddhist Monks, setting the altar for the Buddha Image and how to practice
and follow the proceedings.
2. Other important ceremonies such as His Majesty the King's Birthday, Chakri, Coronation
and Chulalongkom days
