              Professor Dr. Branislav Borovac
Honorary Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professor Dr. Branislav Borovac was born on the 21st of January 1951. He
completed his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences
at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1982 and 1986, respectively.

He is an emeritus professor of robotics at the Faculty of Technical
Sciences, University of Novi Sad (UNS), Serbia. His research interests include
robot modeling and control, industrial robotics, sensor information integration,
mechatronics, humanoid robots, and bipedal locomotion. He is a reviewer and
editor for many international academic journals. His research articles have been
cited more than 5,500 times in the Google Scholar database. He has also been a
visiting researcher and professor at many universities around the world, such as
Stanford University, USA; University of Bologna, Italy; and University of Versailles,
            France.

Professor Dr. Branislav Borovac was one of the UNS members who
initiated the cooperation in education and research between Prince of Songkla
University, Thailand, and University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Since then, many greatly
beneficial academic activities took place, such as exchange of researchers and
students, cooperation in research and the continuous organization of the PSU-UNS
            International Conference for many years.

As a visiting professor at the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics
Engineering in 2012, Professor Dr. Branislav Borovac initiated a project-based
learning approach for teaching senior students during the robotics class. The
teaching process introduced the concept of independent design to the students,
and, through reasoned presentations, combined with listening and subsequent
consultation, students gradually developed multiple skills. Accordingly, by the end
of the semester, students have had significantly improved their working style,
practical skills, sense of responsibility and confidence in English communication.
This great success and positive inspiration, under the wise coordination of Professor
