Course of Products Made with Coconut Shells


           Importance
                       The coconut tree are large and have been in Thailand for a long time, Thai people use coconuts

           in cooking, housing, and medicine, and also the outer parts of the coconut, the copra fibers can be burned for
           fuel. The value of the coconut can be raised by using it in different products whether it is as kitchen utensils,
           spoons, spatulas, ladles or these the shells can be made into souvenirs: key chains, lamps, belts, earrings.


           Goals
                       1. For the students to gain knowledge and skills in crafting the coconut husks
                       2. For the students to use creative thinking in crafting
                       3. To provide occupation for extra income


           Objectives
                       1. To have the knowledge, understanding, and ability to make crafts from the coconut husks.

                       2. To develop the knowledge into an occupation

           Course Contents

                       Including the 2 following points
                       1. The materials and equipment in processing the coconut husk products
                       2. The use of the tools, the choosing of the coconut husks, constructing husk products, cutting,
           scraping, and varnishing products


           Study Time
                       The course in coconut husk products takes 20 hours

                       Theory: 2 hours
                       Practice:  18 hours

                       1. Handout regarding the processing of coconut husk products
                       2. Electric saw to cut the husks
                       3. Fret Saw with Blade
                       4. Hand drill

                       5. Grinder/Sanding machine
                       6. Super Glue
                       7. Latex Glue

                       8. Sand Paper
                       9. Lacquer
