Operating the Shadow Puppets Course-Tha Kham Sub-district

Importance

In the past when artists were free from their hunting duties they illustrated their hunting trips
with pictures. These can found today in various caves. Later on from being drawn on caves walls the
illustrations were drawn onto cow hides and carved out into various fictive animals and people from

the artist's imagination. These various puppet figures would then be used and dispayed in a show to entertain
the people in the village.
The carving and operating of the puppets must continue to be passed on to future generations

Goal

To preserve the culture of Tha Kham Sub-district
For the children to learn the different methods of the shadow play
To pass on informations about the shadow puppets
