Manora Dancing Course





















            Importance


                       Manora is a famous Southern form of entertainment and it has been around for a long time.
            It is performed on the occasion of various festivities, auspicious ceremonies, and  celebrations. It  is
            sometimes performed for  the teacher's  ceremony of  families  whose  relatives were Manora  dancers.
            The Manora  performance is an entertainment form including dancing and  singing  performed to music.
            On some occasions speaking, and a story is also included. The instruments used for Manora are very similar

            to  the instruments used for the Shadow Play, including the bongs, drums, flute, mong, cymbals and trae.
            These instruments are used to emphasize the rhythm and the lyrics that accompany the dancing.

            Goals

                       1. To provide trainees with information on the history of Manora
                       2. To acquire knowledge and understanding about the performance
                       3. To familiarize oneself with the musical instruments
                       4. To get acquainted with the Manora artists in the South

            Objectives

                       1. For the youth to value the Manora local entertainment and to carry it on
                       2. For the youth to express and expand their skills with confidence

                       3. For them to grow in body, mind, and spirit and use their free time well
