He started to gain interest in the carving of shadow puppets when he was around 12-13 years
old because in his family it has been passed on from an older relative Mr. Blop Choosri who had then taught
by his uncle Mr. Baromkru-im Chanchum who currently lives in Bang Keaw District, Phattalung Province.
During the school holiday he stayed with his uncle and learned this subject until he started becoming an
expert. His uncle performed the ceremony of the passing on of this knowledge when he was 17-18 years old
and he has been working in this field ever since. He goes back to respect his teacher every year on the first
Thursday of the 6th month. He has been teaching students to become experts and he currently has
2-3 students who are still practicing.
He is still working in the field of crafting shadow puppets and has been chosen as the cultural
instructor for Takria Sub-district.
