Since then, Professor Cannon has visited Prince of Songkla University annually
for periods ranging from one week to 3 months. Apart from the 1978 trip during which he
acted as a consultant under the World Bank Loan Project, all his visits were financed
through his own arrangement. The purpose of these visits is to follow up the projects that
he had initiated and supported through continuous advice and guidance. During this period
he h~s assisted in planning and seeking financial assistance for further staff training as

                sities in Australia.
He has greatly assisted the local staff in planning the curriculum for the course
of Master's degree in Chemistry and in avoiding obstacles which may arise when the
Faculty of Science has reached the point of launching a program for higher studies. This
program has now been in operation for 3 years and the first group of students will receive
their Master's degree within the current academic year. l4'<uJmi>lfl3J
