Interest

1. Cardiovascular epidemiology and physiology. Still engaged in the former

in several projects in Southern Thailand. (long term follow up in InterASIA,
Thepa adult)
2. Encourage research of any form whose ultimate paths have to end

up in publication (need not always be in peer review and knowledge transfer.
(Close working with CVD unit, Thai Heart; CRCN; R2R, Siriraj, cardiology
fellow research training, proper use of drugs and quality control, etc.)

3. Improve conditions of health care in Thailand with emphasis on the service
provider as well as the recipient given the mal-utilisation of resources.

(Close association with MoPH, HSRI, local health stations, community

hospitals, CME with and without drug company)
4. There must be a better way of “learning” than what is being done at present.
5. Write manuscripts and analyse data.
6. Select topics for interdisciplinary discussions and follow up: vaccines,

mother and child, computer usage in communityhospitals and health stations,

primary health care, relationship between doctors and patients, cause of
death and death certificate, burden of disease etc.
