Thai Traditional Massage-Rattapum Sub-district

Rationale
Thai Traditional Massage or Ancient Massage is
science and art. Its origin started from an instinct of survival to

relieve pain and/or ache on particular spots by self massage or by
asking another family member to do a massage. The successful
methods has been memorized and transmitted from generation to

generation from simple to complicated methods. Then the theory
has been compiled until massage became a therapeutic science for
patient treatment.

Objectives

1. For the young learners to have knowledge and skills in Thai traditional massage.
2. For the young learners to have creative thinking in Thai traditional massage.
3. For the young learners to use the skills to earn some extra income

4. To preserve the Thai methods and procedures of ancient massage

Purposes
l. To provide the learners with knowledge, understanding and skills in Thai traditional

massage.
2. T o provide the learners with knowledge and skills to earn a living.

Content of the Course

The course has 2 parts
1. Tools and Materials and herbs for Thai traditional massage.
2. Thai traditional massage.

Duration

The Course for Thai traditional massage: 20 hours.
Theory 2 hours
